* Flash Flood Warning for...
Western Yuma County in southwestern Arizona...
Southwestern La Paz County in west central Arizona...
Southeastern Imperial County in southeastern California...
* Until 1000 PM MST /1000 PM PDT/.
* At 707 PM MST /707 PM PDT/, local law enforcement reported
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
1 and 1.75 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts
up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...California Highway Patrol reported flooding along I-8 near
Ogilby Rd.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Mainly rural areas of Western Yuma, Southwestern La Paz and
Southeastern Imperial Counties.
This includes CA Interstate 8 between mile markers 83 and 92.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Marcus Wash, Colorado River, Picacho Wash, Unnamed Wash, Little
Picacho Wash, Mission Wash, Ferguson Wash, Senator Wash, Carrizo
Wash and Araz Wash.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
