...KRTX Radar Down for Maintenance...

Starting at 8 am PDT on Monday August 18th and ending by 3 pm on
Wednesday August 20, 2025, the WSR-88D KRTX Radar will be down to do
painting on the new dome panels.

There is no ideal time of year to take the system down, but our
meteorologists still have access to high-resolution near term
models, satellite data, weather observations, lightning data,
Skywarn Spotters, CoCoRAHS observers and public reports that assist
in their warning decision making if we get impactful weather in that
time frame.
