DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 700 PM CHST...0900 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Podul
was located near Latitude 20.7 degrees North and Longitude
131.6 degrees East. Podul is moving west-southwest at 15 mph. It
is expected to make a turn toward the west-northwest towards Taiwan
with little change in forward speed through Tuesday.

Maximum sustained winds remain at 65 mph. Podul is forecast to
intensify through Tuesday, possibly becoming a typhoon.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
90 miles.
