CHANGES WITH THIS ADVISORY -------------------------- Podul was upgraded to a typhoon. WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- None. SUMMARY OF 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------- Location...20.8N 128.6E About 375 miles south of Okinawa About 1180 miles west-northwest of Guam Maximum sustained winds...75 mph Present movement...west...270 degrees at 16 mph DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...the center of Typhoon Podul was located near Latitude 20.8 degrees North and Longitude 128.6 degrees East. Podul is moving west at 16 mph. It is expected to make a slight turn toward the west-northwest with little change in forward speed through Wednesday. Maximum sustained winds have increased to 75 mph. Podul is forecast to intensify through tonight. Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 35 miles, mainly towards the east.
