...POTENTIAL FOR LOCALLY HEAVY SHOWERS AND GUSTY WINDS HAS
DIMINISHED ACROSS YAP STATE...
...TROPICAL DEPRESSION 27W CONTINUES TO PULL AWAY TO THE WEST-
NORTHWEST...

The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) has issued the first warning
for Tropical Depression 27W, upgraded from Invest 94W, but TD 27W is
beginning to move away from Yap State and is now north of Yap Proper
near 12N138E. Latest Himawari visible satellite imagery shows heavy
showers are pulling away from Yap State as drier weather spreads
across the region. The strongest convection is consolidated near and
north of the center away from Yap, Ulithi, and nearby islands, and
the threat for gusty winds has diminished.

This will be the last Special Weather Statement for Yap State in
regards to TD 27W. Folks across Yap State should monitor local weather
forecasts the next couple of days from the National Weather Service
in Guam, and for additional information from your local Weather
Service Office and emergency management. Visit
weather.gov/gum/PublicForecasts for the latest weather information
from the National Weather Service.
