The Tropical Storm Warning has been cancelled for Yap Proper.

A Small Craft Advisory, High Surf Advisory, and Coastal Flood
Advisory, remain in effect for Yap Proper.

.STORM INFORMATION...
Tropical Storm Fung-wong (32W) is currently located near 11.6
degrees north latitude, and 136.6 degrees east longitude. This is
about 175 miles northwest of Yap, 240 miles northwest of
Ulithi, and 295 miles west-northwest of Fais. Fung-wong`s maximum
sustained winds remain at 65 mph.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
Tropical Storm Fung-wong is moving northwest at 12 mph. It is
expected to turn toward the west with a slight increase in forward
speed through Saturday. Fung-wong is expected to continue to
intensify and could become a typhoon tonight. Yap Proper is no longer
experiencing sustained tropical storm- force winds, but heavy

showers and strong gusty winds. TS Fung-wong will continue to move
away from Yap Proper with conditions expected to gradually improve
across Yap Proper tonight and Saturday.

Remain in a sturdy shelter and do not leave shelter until instructed
to do so by emergency management or local officials. Sufficient food

...YAP PROPER...

...TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS CANCELLED...

.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain in a sturdy shelter until the all clear has been given by
your local emergency management officials. It is important to
actively listen for forthcoming information from the National Weather
Service and your local emergency management offices. Heavy rains and
strong winds will continue in the monsoon surge even as Tropical
Storm Fung-wong continues to move away to the west-northwest.

.WIND INFORMATION...
Wind radii forecasts and satellite-derived winds indicate Yap Proper
is no longer within the 39 mph wind field of Tropical Storm Fung-wong.
Winds will remain breezy to windy with monsoonal flow behind Fung-
wong keeping winds elevated around 25 to 35 mph tonight, with
stronger gusts in heavy showers and thunderstorms. Winds will
decrease even further Saturday through Sunday as winds slowly turn
from the south to the southeast.

.COASTAL INUNDATION AND SURF INFORMATION...
Hazardous surf of 10 to 14 feet is expected along west and south
facing reefs, with surf subsiding along north facing reefs. Surf will
start to decrease as Fung-wong moves away from Yap to the west-
northwest but will likely remain near hazardous levels of 9 feet
Saturday through Sunday due to swells generated by Fung-wong and the
monsoon pattern. There will also be above-normal King Tides.
Inundation of around 1 to 2 feet is possible, mainly along windward
facing shorelines. Seas are around 10 to 13 feet and will remain
choppy even as Fung-wong moves away. Seas will start to decrease
tonight as the winds decrease but expected to remain choppy and
around hazardous levels of 10 feet through at least Saturday.

.OTHER STORM EFFECTS...
Periods of heavy showers and thunderstorms will continue through
tonight and potentially Saturday before tapering down Saturday night
and Sunday. 3 to 5 inches of additional rainfall is possible through
Sunday.
