DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Kalmaegi
was located near Latitude 10.9 degrees North and Longitude 129.4
degrees East. Kalmaegi is moving west at 20 mph. It is expected to
maintain this general course with a decrease in forward speed
through Tuesday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to 70 mph. Kalmaegi is
forecast to intensify through tonight, possibly becoming a typhoon
later today. Kalmaegi is then expected to weaken as it moves
through the Philippines, strengthening again west of the
Philippines.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
100 miles.
