005 WWPQ81 PGUM 170218 CCA SPSPQ1 SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...CORRECTED NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TIYAN GU 1218 PM ChST Fri Jul 17 2026 PMZ173-174-180200- POHNPEI-KOSRAE- 1218 PM ChST Fri Jul 17 2026 Corrected rainfall days ...TROPICAL DISTURBANCE TO GENERATE HEAVY SHOWERS AND GUSTY WINDS ACROSS THE FSM... A broad tropical disturbance, Invest 90W, is slowly organizing southwest of Pohnpei/southeast of Chuuk near Lukunoch. This disturbance will remain quasi-stationary for the next 36 hours as it slowly develops. Early this weekend, 90W may lift northward somewhere between Chuuk and Pohnpei. This disturbance is generating numerous to widespread showers, isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds across southern Pohnpei and Kosrae States. These conditions will shift northward in the coming days. Sustained winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts to 30 mph are possible. POTENTIAL RAINFALL TOTALS THROUGH MONDAY (JULY 17-20): Pohnpei: 2 to 4 inches Kosrae:2 to 4 inches Mokil:2 to 4 inches Pingelap:2 to 4 inches Sapwuafik: 2 to 4 inches Nukuoro: 3 to 5 inches Locally heavier rainfall is possible depending on the evolution of Invest 90W in the coming days.
