The Typhoon Warning for Agrihan, Pagan and Alamagan is canceled as of
5 AM ChST.

.AREAS AFFECTED...
This local statement provides information and recommended action for
people on Agrihan, Pagan and Alamagan in the Commonwealth of the
Northern Marianas.

.WATCHES/WARNINGS...
The Typhoon Warning for Alamagan, Pagan and Agrihan is canceled as of
5 AM ChST.

.STORM INFORMATION...
As of 400 AM ChST, 1500 UTC, the center of Typhoon Saudel (17W) was
located near 20.4N and 143.6E northwest of Agrihan. The system
continues to move northwest, with a forward speed of 16 mph. The
maximum sustained winds remain at 120 mph near the center. Saudel will
continue on this trajectory then slowly shift to the west-northwest,
accelerating once again today and further intensify as it continues
to move away from the Marianas.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
Damaging winds are no longer occurring over the Marianas.

.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Residents of Alamagan, Pagan and Agrihan can emerge from shelter and
begin cleanup at sunrise or when they receive the all clear.

.NEXT UPDATE...
This will be the last local statement issued by the National Weather
Service on Typhoon Saudel.

Remain in suitable shelter until the all clear has been given.

.WIND INFORMATION...
West to southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts to 35 mph today will
continue to gradually diminish.

.COASTAL INUNDATION AND SURF INFORMATION...
Surf should be beginning to diminish along south and east facing
reefs, but could continue through at least this afternoon as swells
generated by Saudel continue to pummel west and north facing reefs
with surf heights of 10 to 14 feet.

.OTHER STORM EFFECTS...
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms have moved off. A monsoon
band could create additional locally heavy rainfall later this week.
