The following information is based on recent satellite imagery/data, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. ...SPECIAL FEATURES... None. ...OTHER WEATHER SYSTEMS... NEAR-EQUATORIAL TROUGH... The Near-Equatorial Trough (NET) enters the region near 8N130E, extending E through a weak circulation centered WNW of Yap Proper near 10N136E to 9N150E. This is where the NET turns SE to a weak circulation centered near 2N158E, then crosses the Equator near 158E. Scattered showers and a couple of thunderstorms are found S of Palau, W of 137E. A weak trade-wind trough is enhancing convection near Eauripik, producing scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Farther E, scattered to numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms are found along the far E portion of the NET where it turns SE to the weak circulation near 2N158E. The NET will remain quasi-stationary over the next couple of days, with convection flaring up as other weak disturbances interact with it in different locations. Little change in intensity is expected. SURFACE TROUGHS... A surface trough extends WNW across the Date Line near 5N, passing S of Majuro, where it turns N to a weak circulation centered NE of Kwajalein near 10N169E, then continues NE to end E of Wake Island near 21N172E. Enhanced convergence N of the trough is generating scattered to numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms along a line from 10N180 to 13N173E. Another band of showers and thunderstorms is found ENE of Majuro. Scattered showers are also found near the circulation. Scattered to numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms are found S of the trough within a band of westerly winds E of Butaritari. The trough will continue to slowly move W over the coming days. The circulation will continue to dissipate, while the trough remains unchanged. TRADE-WIND TROUGHS... A trade-wind trough extends NNE from the weak circulation centered WNW of Yap Proper to end near 15N139E. Spotty clouds and showers are found with this trough. The trough is expected to continue to move W, exiting the region within the next couple of days. Another trade-wind trough is found NW of Weno, Chuuk, ESE of Guam, extending N from near 9N150E to end near 13N150E. Numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms are found with this trough from 147E to 153E. This trough will continue to move W over the next few days with little change in intensity. TUTT... The TUTT has pretty much dissipated over the region, with only a small area of troughing seen from near 22N180 to 18N173E. OTHER SYSTEMS... A weak quasi-stationary front enters the region near 25N167E, extending WSW to 22N159E, then turns ENE to beyond 25N near Minami Torishima. Patchy clouds, isolated showers and a couple of thunderstorms are found along and N of the front. The front will slowly drift E as it continues to weaken. $$ Kleeschulte
