.DISCUSSION...
The upper air sounding from this afternoon shows a drier trend
compared to the sounding from last night. Satellite data also
indicates thunderstorms have dissipated in the Samoan region,
which suggests we are trending towards a more stable and dry
pattern due to a weakening trough. This pattern prompted the
cancellation for the Flash Flood Watch, though passing rain is
still possible with remnant moisture associated with the trough.

A light, east breeze will remain through Sunday, before gradually
increasing Sunday night as a high pressure system builds near New
Zealand. Expect trade winds to return for the new week.

.Marine...
Latest wave heights from the Aunu`u PacIOOS buoy are around 10
feet, while peak periods average at 11 seconds (since this
morning). Model data suggests wave heights subsiding overnight,
however, average peak periods lingers around 10 seconds through
Monday. This data suggests wave heights may fall below advisory
thresholds overnight, though surfs (at the shore) may remain in
the advisory threshold through at least Monday.
