Critical fire weather conditions are expected again later today with another round of scattered shower and thunderstorm development. Following very isolated showers early this morning, best thunderstorm chances will be during afternoon and early evening hours. Stronger storms will remain capable of producing wind gusts up to 50 mph, small hail, and heavy rain. Under the increasing influence of high pressure starting Monday, hot and dry conditions are then expected to return through midweek, outside of isolated showers and storms in eastern Custer and Lemhi Counties Monday afternoon. These hot and dry conditions will support near critical fire weather conditions with afternoon humidities in the single digits and teens coupled with wind gusts peaking each afternoon around 20-25 mph. .TODAY... Sky/weather.........Partly sunny in the morning, then becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Isolated showers in the morning, then scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. CWR.................20 to 30 percent. Chance of thunder...30 to 40 percent. Max temperature.....74 to 78 degrees. Min humidity........28 to 32 percent. Wind (20 ft)........Southeast winds 5 to 8 mph in the morning shifting to the southwest 10 to 14 mph with gusts to around 20 mph in the afternoon. Gusty and erratic winds expected near thunderstorms in the afternoon.
