This air will settle in through at least the Independence Day holiday, and possibly the upcoming weekend. Today will be the hottest day of the upcoming week, then the increasing cloud cover for Wednesday through Friday will cool the afternoon highs, helping to keep afternoon humidity above critical thresholds.
