.SHORT TERM /THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT/...
Issued at 120 PM MDT Wed Jun 4 2025

We remain in an overall troughing pattern for the next few days with
a weak shortwave passing through this afternoon. Satellite this
afternoon shows plenty of cu across all of our higher terrain in
Eastern Idaho and even a bit in parts of the Snake River Plain. The
shortwave passage today will be fairly uneventful, with only a 15
percent chance of an isolated storm off the terrain in the Central
Mountains, upper Snake River Plain, or Eastern Highlands while
everyone stays dry. Afternoon highs will only be a couple of degrees
warmer today, so look for more upper 60s to mid 70s as our warming
trend gets a slow start. Winds have been a bit breezy at times today
with gusts around 20 to 30 mph, mainly through the Snake River Plain
and that will diminish this afternoon. Look for Thursday to be
nearly a repeat of today with a continued chance for isolated to
scattered afternoon storms in the same areas and highs will be about
5 degrees warmer for everyone.

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 120 PM MDT Wed Jun 4 2025

Dry conditions stick around Friday through most of
Monday. It is possible we could see some virga Sunday, but even if
we see that take shape...it won`t impact temperatures. The chance of
showers and storms ramps up early next week, although Tuesday looks
similar temperature-wise to Monday. Our lower valleys are still
looking at low/mid 90s in many areas. We certainly will be looking
at potential record highs with the current forecast. However, with
cool lows...we are not expecting any significant accumulating heat
impacts and no heat-related headlines at the moment.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z FRIDAY/... Issued at 956 PM MDT
Wed Jun 4 2025

VFR conditions are expected through the period. Current mid-
level clouds over the area will continue to gradually clear
overnight. Northerly winds are expected to continue overnight
through much of the day tomorrow. Outside of normal wind shifts
for KSUN, the rest of the TAF sites will have winds become more
northwesterly by late tomorrow afternoon. A weak wave moving
over the Montana divide tomorrow will bring back mid-level
clouds in the afternoon/early evening tomorrow. Have added
vicinity showers for KIDA starting in the early evening and
KDIJ starting by late afternoon.

.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 146 AM MDT Wed Jun 4 2025

A prolonged period of mostly dry weather is expected for the
upcoming week. Temperatures today will run on the cool side of
normal once again but a warming trend is expected to begin tomorrow
and continue to build in intensity by Friday and into the weekend
with temperatures expected to return into the 80s and 90s for much
of eastern Idaho. Precipitation will be hard to come by through this
period and afternoon RHs will likely drop to around 15-25 percent
each day. Perhaps some precipitation chances return by Tuesday and
Wednesday next week but any QPF looks very light, if any
transpires at all.
