.KEY MESSAGES...

-Isolated showers and thunderstorms across our northern areas
 today.

- Cooler temperatures Saturday and Sunday with highs only in
  the 70s and 80s.

- Very dry conditions are expected to return by Sunday and
  continue through next week with an overall warming trend as
  well. Temperatures will return to the 90s and even approaching
  100 for lower elevations by next Tuesday and Wednesday.

.SHORT TERM /THROUGH SUNDAY/...

Expect a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms
today (northern Central mountains, Lost River Range, Montana
Divide, and along the northern Wyoming/Idaho border) combined
with breezy gusts of 20 to 35 mph as a trough moves through the
area. The Severe Prediction Center (SPC) has the best chance of
convection in the Island Park area and along the northern
Wyoming/Idaho border from Montana south to around Driggs. High
pressure will start building back in by late today bringing back
dry conditions and overall light winds late today through
Sunday. High temperatures will be below normal today (4 to 8
degrees) and rise to near normal by Sunday. &&

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...

Expect very dry conditions, overall light winds, and warmer
than normal temperatures under the influence of high pressure
through the period. Temperatures will rise to around 6 to 12
degrees above normal by Tuesday. A very weak wave/trough late
Wednesday into Thursday will drop temperatures slightly (3 to 6
degrees) and bring an slight uptick in afternoon winds (gusts of
around 20 mph).

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z SUNDAY/...

Showers and thunderstorms have left our TAF sites finally, so expect
VFR conditions through tonight and Sunday. Sunday`s weather will be
much quieter with all sites staying dry. The one small caveat is a
10 to 15 percent chance for an isolated thunderstorm near DIJ in the
afternoon, but will leave it out of the TAF for now. Winds will be a
little breezy at times on Sunday afternoon with gusts up to 20kts at
all sites except for IDA where gusts around 25kts will be
possible.

.FIRE WEATHER...

Expect a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms
today (for all zones except 422, 425, and 427) combined with
breezy gusts of 20 to 35 mph as a trough moves through the area.
High pressure will start building back in by late today. It
will turn hot again, with above normal temperatures (80s to
90s) by Monday with a return to very dry low relative
humidities (below 15%). A weak wave on late Wednesday into
Thursday will bring slightly higher relative humidities, breezy
winds, and slightly cooler temperatures by around 3 to 6
degrees.
