Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
251 PM PDT Wed May 14 2025

.DISCUSSION...Breezy to windy westerly winds are anticipated
through the Cascade gaps and across portions of the Columbia
Plateau this evening and again Thursday. A weak weather system
will push onshore late Thursday with low chances of wetting rain
for the mountains. Looking ahead, a more robust low-pressure
system is forecast this weekend with area-wide precipitation
likely. Widespread breezy to windy westerly winds are forecast
late Saturday through early next week.

***Thunderstorms imply strong gusty winds***
***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
***Ventilation Index is derived from the
transport wind multiplied by the mixing
height in 100`s of feet. Index categories
are a generalized indicator and users are
encourage to develop criteria that are
   suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.***
Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height.
