.DISCUSSION...Elevated to critical fire weather conditions through
the Saturday. Today, hot, dry, and areas of unstable conditions
under a ridge of high pressure. A low-pressure system will bring
very low to slight (5-20 percent) chances of high-based showers
and thunderstorms today and Saturday, highest chances over the
mountains. Saturday, widespread breezy winds and low relative
humidity through the Cascade gaps and across the Columbia Basin
and portions of the Blue Mountains.
***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages ***
***CWR: Chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater ***
***Ventilation Index is derived from transport wind
multiplied by the mixing height in 100`s of ft.
Categories are a generalized indicator and users
are encourage to develop criteria that are
suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.
Categories: low (< 200), moderate (200-500),
high (500-700), and very high (> 700).
-Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height. ***
