.DISCUSSION...Upper level high pressure will build over the region
through early Tuesday, resulting in light winds and a
warming/drying trend. An approaching upper weather system will
bring breezy westerly winds to the region latter half of Tuesday
through Wednesday, with elevated fire weather conditions
in southern zones. Showers will develop across the mountains late
Tuesday, then become widespread across the region Wednesday with
isolated afternoon thunderstorms in the Blue mountains both days.
***Thunderstorms imply strong gusty winds ***
***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages ***
***CWR: Chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater ***
***Ventilation Index is derived from transport wind
multiplied by the mixing height in 100`s of ft.
Categories are a generalized indicator and users
are encourage to develop criteria that are
suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.
Categories: low (< 200), moderate (200-500),
high (500-700), and very high (> 700).
-Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height. ***
