Issued by NWS Pendleton, OR
831 FNUS56 KPDT 102108 FWFPDT Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington National Weather Service Pendleton OR 208 PM PDT Wed Sep 10 2025 .DISCUSSION...The shower and thunderstorm threat will continue to gradually shift eastward over the next several days, however central and eastern Oregon will see another round materialize this afternoon and evening. Given the frequency of storms as of late, localized flooding concerns may become an issue around deep canyons and burn scars under heavier cells. We`ll see another round develop for the same area Thursday, before conditions trend quieter Friday heading into the weekend. ***Thunderstorms imply strong gusty winds*** ***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages*** ***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater*** ***Ventilation Index is derived from the transport wind multiplied by the mixing height in 100`s of feet. Index categories are a generalized indicator and users are encourage to develop criteria that are suitable and representative of dispersion conditions in their local area of interest.*** Note: Max transport winds may not occur at the same time as max mixing height.
