Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
250 PM PDT Mon Jun 30 2025

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
WEDNESDAY EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE
WEATHER ZONES WA690 AND WA691 ...
...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM TO 9 PM PDT TUESDAY FOR
ABUNDANT LIGHTNING FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE OR700...

.DISCUSSION...Hot temperatures will persist on Tuesday as a threat
for afternoon and evening thunderstorms materializes for areas of
Central Oregon. Some stronger thunderstorms may reach wetting rain
amounts, but the majority of developing storms are expected to be
rather dry as the potential for new fire starts is of concern over
OR700. A pressure gradient develops along the Cascades Wednesday
to provide breezy winds through the Columbia Basin as low
humidities linger from earlier in the week. Humidities slowly
improve through the remainder of the week.

***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
***Ventilation Index is derived from the
transport wind multiplied by the mixing
height in 100`s of feet. Index categories
are a generalized indicator and users are
encourage to develop criteria that are
   suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.***
Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height.
