.DISCUSSION...Building high pressure over the forecast area will
make for breezy winds through the Cascade Gaps at times during the
day Friday, before giving way to a hot weekend. Portions of the
Columbia Basin could see high temperatures exceed 100 degrees both
Sunday and Monday, with widespread RHs in the teens and 20s. A
more active pattern then materializes late Monday onward, which,
if forecast models verify, could lead to the potential for dry
thunderstorms over the mountains of central and eastern Oregon,
possibly spilling over into the adjacent foothills.
