Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
251 PM PDT Sat May 24 2025

.DISCUSSION...Upper level high pressure will continue over the
region into tomorrow morning, resulting in light diurnal/terrain
driven winds with a drying and warming trend. However, a weather
system developing offshore will bring chances of thunderstorms
(15-30%) over much of the area with low chances (20-50%) of
wetting rain Sunday afternoon into Monday. Breezy winds will also
develop through the Cascade gaps late Sunday afternoon and again
but a few mph lighter Monday.

***Thunderstorms imply strong gusty winds***
***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
***Ventilation Index is derived from the
transport wind multiplied by the mixing
height in 100`s of feet. Index categories
are a generalized indicator and users are
encourage to develop criteria that are
   suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.***
Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height.
