Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
115 PM PDT Fri Jul 4 2025

...THUNDERSTORMS OVER CENTRAL AND EASTERN OREGON TODAY...

.DISCUSSION...Another round of thunderstorms is initiating this
afternoon, focused primarily on southern and eastern Deschutes,
Crook, and Grant counties. Thunderstorms will be capable of
producing strong, gusty outflow winds up to 60 mph, small hail,
and locally heavy downpours. Chances of wetting rain associated
with prior early morning activity as well as ongoing and forecast
activity through this evening are medium-high (50-80 percent for
the Blue Mountains) with low-medium chances (30-60 percent) for
the rest of central and eastern Oregon.

***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
***Ventilation Index is derived from the
transport wind multiplied by the mixing
height in 100`s of feet. Index categories
are a generalized indicator and users are
encourage to develop criteria that are
   suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.***
Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height.
