Hydrologic Statement
National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA
1040 AM EDT Thu Jun 26 2025

Past 24 hour precipitation...
Scattered thunderstorms produced blotchy accumulations totals
mainly over the Ohio and Monongahela River Basins, averaging
0.10 to 0.50 inches. Very localized maxima anywhere from 1 to 3
inches was also reported.

Forecast precipitation for the next 48 hours...
Basin average rainfall is forecast to range from 0.10 to
0.50 inches, with slightly higher amounts over the higher
terrain southeast of Pittsburgh. Slow moving thunderstorms
today through Saturday will have the ability to produce
locally higher amounts that can exceed 1 to 2 inches.

River trends...
Area rivers and streams will experience gradual falls over
the next 48 hours based solely on the average basin rain
forecast. However, thunderstorms can produce locally higher
amounts that can cause rapid rises that are not captured in
the current forecasted crest. It remains best to monitor
the latest flood hazard products to best know where higher
crests may occur due to these slow moving thunderstorms.
