Isolated shower and thunderstorms overnight left several swaths of 0.01-0.50 inches across the region. Heavier showers and thunderstorms totaled between 1-2 inches across portions of the Ohio Basin. Forecast precipitation for the next 48 hours... Continued shower and thunderstorm coverage is expected today and through the weekend. Any shower and thunderstorm can bring heavy downpours and the possibility of localized flooding. Much of the region is expected to total between 0.25-0.75 inches but areas that see persistent downpours could see totals as high as 3-5 inches of rain over the next 48 hours. River trends... Main stem rivers are not expected to see much of a response from these rainfall totals. Smaller creeks and streams however can see quick responses and rapid rises in areas of persistent rainfall.
