Hydrologic Statement
National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA
1109 AM EDT Sat Jun 7 2025

Past 24 hour precipitation...
Heavy rain from training thunderstorms impacted portions of the
region yesterday. Most basins received at least 0.25-0.75 inches.
Isolated areas in the Allegheny Basin saw totals as high as 2.50
inches. Isolated areas of the Mon Basin saw totals as high as
3.50-4.00 inches. Widespread totals in the lower Mon and Cheat
Basins were between 1.50-2.50 inches.

Forecast precipitation for the next 48 hours...
Spotty showers with little accumulation are expected today. A low
pressure system moving into the region returns the risk for heavy
rain tonight, especially for areas south of Pittsburgh. Basin
average rainfall for areas south of Pittsburgh can be between
0.50-1.50 inches. North of Pittsburgh totals are expected to be
on the order of 0.10-0.50 inches.

River trends...
We are expecting a fast response to all of this rainfall across
the lower Allegheny, Mon and Cheat Basins today. We are already
observing this at several gauges in the Mon and Cheat Basins,
which are showing some jumps on the order of several feet.
However, at this time we are not expecting any stations to reach
action or Minor Flood. Continued rainfall this Sunday and in
possible thunderstorms on Monday will warrant observation but at
this time no threats are imminent.

This text product /PITRVSPBZ/ will be issued routinely in the
