Hydrologic Statement
National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA
1049 AM EDT Tue May 6 2025

Past 24 hour precipitation...
Banded showers and thunderstorms left SE-NW oriented lines of
rainfall across the region. The most intense of which saw between
1.00-2.00 inches of rain fall across SW PA and E OH. Lower totals
closer to 0.25 inches were noted across N WV and SE OH.

Forecast precipitation for the next 48 hours...
Showers return this afternoon and evening largely along and south
of the I-70 corridor, where totals between 0.25-0.75 inches are
expected. A few showers may linger along the PA/WV ridges early
Wednesday but much of the area is expected to dry out by Wednesday
morning and remain so until rainfall chances return late Wednesday
night.

River trends...
Rivers are near crest at this time. Rivers in OH remain somewhat
elevated with 1 forecast point in minor flood and several in
action. Additional rainfall today may not lead to many additional
rises but could delay waters receding. Rivers in PA and WV are
expected to be rather steady with only slight rises or falls.
