********* PITTSBURGH MONTHLY SUMMARY **********

The Pittsburgh PA climate summary for the month  of January, 2025.
The maximum temperature for the period was 54.  The record maximum
temperature is 75 degrees which was last set in 1950.  The minimum
temperature for the period was -9.  The record minimum temperature
is -22 degrees which was set in 1994. The average temperature was
24.1 degrees which is 4.7 degrees below the normal average
temperature of 28.8 degrees.  The maximum temperature did not exceed
90 degrees. The minimum temperature dropped below 32 degrees on 30
days this period.  A total of 1.60 inches of precipitation fell
during the period which is 1.36 inches below the normal amount of
2.96.  A total of 15.1 inches snow fell during the period which is
1.8 inches above the normal amount of 13.3. There were 1,263 heating
degree days this period which is 143 above the normal amount of
1,120 days.  There were no cooling degree days this period which is
normal.  The maximum wind was 33 miles per hour from the west and
occurred on January 29.  The maximum wind gust was 48 miles per hour
from the west and occurred on January 29.

24.3 degrees which is 5.8 degrees below the normal average
temperature of 30.1 degrees.  The maximum temperature did not exceed
90 degrees. The minimum temperature dropped below 32 degrees on 28
days this period.  A total of 0.63 inches of precipitation fell
during the period which is 2.17 inches below the normal amount of
2.80.  There were 1,251 heating degree days this period which is 168
above the normal amount of 1,083 days. There were no cooling degree
days this period which is normal.  The maximum wind was 29 miles per
hour from the west and occurred on January 28.  The maximum wind
gust was 47 miles per hour from the southwest and occurred on
