...NWS Damage Survey for 11/20/2024 Etna to Fox Chapel Wind Damage...

Survey Summary:
Between the hours of 04:54 pm EST and 05:00 pm EST, a strong cold
front with an embedded circulation progressed from Etna to Fox
Chapel. An area on the south side of the circulation surged, and
resulted in the snapping of large branches and uprooting one tree.
Most damage was oriented within the direction of the prevailing
wind from west to east. Instances of damage were largely
separated from each other. This gives enough confidence to
conclude the damage was likely non-tornadic, and related to strong
straight-line wind. Based on radar estimated velocity and damage
on the surface, it is estimated that the maximum embedded wind
speed was 65mph.
