A STORM SYSTEM WILL CAUSE WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE
ENTIRE REGION TODAY INTO TONIGHT. BETWEEN 1.5 TO 2.5 INCHES OF
RAIN IS LIKELY, WITH LOCALLY 3 TO 4 INCHES ACROSS THE MISSOURI
BOOTHEEL AND KENTUCKY PURCHASE. TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS MAY LEAD TO
SOME FLOODING ISSUES, ESPECIALLY ON ROADWAYS AND LOW-LYING
LOCATIONS. A FEW SCATTERED THUNDER SHOWERS RETURN FRIDAY
AFTERNOON, FOLLOWED BY DRY CONDITIONS OVER THE WEEKEND. A WARMING
TREND WILL CONTINUE INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK, WITH TEMPERATURES RISING
15 TO 20 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. RAIN CHANCES
RETURN DURING THE MIDDLE TO LATTER HALF OF NEXT WEEK AS A FRONTAL
BOUNDARY SLOWLY MOVES ACROSS THE REGION.
