A tornado struck parts of central and northern
Hopkins County last Wednesday evening.

Survey Summary:
Narrative: An EF-1 tornado began just west of Madisonville when
it removed part of the roof of the Humane Society building. No
animals were harmed. Traveling northeast, the tornado did
sporadic tree damage and damaged the roof and gutters of a home
as it crossed Interstate 69 and paralleled Highway 281. The
tornado may have continued into McLean County near Jewel City,
but the area was inaccessible due to flooding.
