...EXTREME HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values of 100 to 105
  today and 105 to 110 on Sunday. For the Extreme Heat Watch,
  dangerously hot conditions with heat index of 110 to 115 degrees
  possible.

* WHERE...Jefferson County.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until noon CDT Monday. For the
  Extreme Heat Watch, from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high
  humidity may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing.
