...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM CDT WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of western Kentucky, including the following
counties, Ballard, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Marshall and
McCracken and southeast Missouri, including the following county,
Mississippi.
* WHEN...Until 1100 AM CDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 911 PM CDT, Local law enforcement reported that flooding
is ongoing in many locations through the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Paducah, Mayfield, Charleston, Benton, East Prairie, Cairo,
Calvert City, Fulton, Hickman, Clinton, La Center, Bardwell,
Wickliffe, Lone Oak, Reidland, Towosahgy State Historic Site,
Big Oak Tree State Park, Barlow, Wyatt and Anniston.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
