.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 216 AM CDT Fri Aug 22 2025

Surface ridging remains to our north today before moving off to
the east over the weekend. Tranquil conditions will persist
today with partly sunny skies and temperatures rising into the
mid to upper 80s. An upper low will move into the Great Lakes
this weekend, pushing a cold front through the area late
Saturday into Sunday. Temperatures will rise ahead of the front
on Saturday with highs in the upper 80s to near 90. Humidity
will still be relatively low given a continued northerly wind
component.

Behind the front, a refreshing airmass ushers in with below
normal temperatures. Highs in the mid 70s to low 80s will be
common next week with low humidity leading to very pleasant
conditions. Low temperatures will be cool, with lows in the
50s.

Issued at 623 AM CDT Fri Aug 22 2025

VFR conditions will prevail through much of the period with
northeast winds 5-7 kts. Diurnal CU with bases around 4-5kft
will develop this afternoon before dissipating after 00z
tonight. Mostly clear skies and light to calm winds overnight
may support patchy fog development. Guidance is trending more
favorable on this development and included MVFR fog mention for
all sites after 09z tonight.
