536 FXUS63 KPAH 102334 AFDPAH Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Paducah KY 634 PM CDT Sun Aug 10 2025 .KEY MESSAGES... - Typical summer-time heat and humidity will continue through the next 7 days. Daily highs will primarily be in the low 90s through Thursday, and may push the mid 90s by next weekend. - Heat index readings will make it "feel like" 95 to 100 degrees each day through Thursday. These readings may rise above 100 and close to 105 in some areas Friday through next weekend. - Primarily dry weather is forecast through Monday. Highest chances for scattered showers and storms will be Tuesday- Thursday (30-50%), with lessening chances late in the week into next weekend (20-30%). && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 302 PM CDT Sun Aug 10 2025 Upper-level/500mb ridging over the eastern CONUS will drift to the southeastern CONUS through the first half of the week. At the same time, a closed upper-level low will shift eastward through the Canadian Prairies to northern Ontario by Wednesday. A nearly stationary front will be draped between these features as it becomes ill-defined by Wednesday afternoon. Along and near the boundary, expect a better chance for at least scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms to develop beginning as early as Tuesday afternoon before lingering through Thursday. Deeper moisture is progged to advect northward from the Gulf through mid week, also helping to increase thunderstorm coverage and increase the threat for heavy downpours. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s to low 90s through Thursday afternoon before warming further into the weekend. The aforementioned increase in moisture levels will also make if feel less comfortable outside with afternoon heat index values pushing closer to the mid 90s. The ridge is still expected to amplify once again for the end of the week into next weekend, pushing high temperatures up toward the mid 90s with heat index values approaching 100-105 degrees. There still may be some isolated afternoon storms each day, but the coverage is expected to be minimized by the increased heat aloft. && .AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z MONDAY/...
