...NWS Damage Survey for 4/29/25 Tornado Event...

.Overview...Two tornadoes have been confirmed with the large
severe storm that moved through Knox and Baylor Counties in
Texas on Tuesday evening. In addition to these tornadoes,
many areas were also affected by thunderstorm winds with
some wind gusts measured between 90 and 106 mph. These very
strong winds produced damage in Benjamin, Munday, Seymour,
a large area northwest of Seymour and other locations in
Knox and Baylor Counties.

Survey Summary:
This tornado developed near the south part of the community of
Vera. Initially the tornado moved southeast and then east-
northeast crossing US-82 and then moving into Baylor County near
and north of US-82 before turning east-southeast, passing north
of Red Springs and dissipating about 7 miles west-northwest of
Seymour. Numerous mesquite trees in a grove were snapped, a
building on a feed lot was destroyed and numerous other farm and
ranch outbuildings were damaged or destroyed. One wind turbine
was damaged and a crane at another turbine tower was toppled.
After this tornado dissipated, the large rear flank downdraft
continued to produce damage for two or three miles farther
northeast.

Survey Summary:
This tornado developed just north of FM-1919 northeast of the
Seymour Airport and initially moved south. The tornado turned
east-northeast as it approached FM-2069 and moved directly over
the Seymour Airport. The most significant damage was at the
Seymour Airport were numerous hangars and other buildings were
destroyed. A number of planes and vehicles were heavily damaged
or destroyed at the airport. The tornado may have moved northeast
from the airport, but this area was inaccessible to the survey
team.
