.NEAR TERM...
(Today and tonight)
Issued at 143 AM CDT Tue Jul 1 2025

Convection will continue to slowly push off to the south this
morning as the weak cold front stalls south of the Red River.
Northerly winds will help to keep high temperatures below 90 F for
most of the area. Additional thunderstorms are possible today as
a surface high across the Texas Panhandle promotes moisture
advection into portions of western north Texas and far southwest
Oklahoma. Given the limited parameter space (shear/CAPE), severe
weather is not expected. Overnight lows will be a little cooler
Tuesday night, with most of the area in the upper 60s to low 70s.

.SHORT TERM...
(Wednesday through Thursday night)
Issued at 143 AM CDT Tue Jul 1 2025

By Wednesday, weak northwest flow aloft will dominate the Plains,
which will foster additional (albeit low) chances of
thunderstorms across the area. Severe weather with any of this
activity is not expected. Overall, temperatures through the middle
of the week will be quite consistent. Afternoon highs will be in
the upper 80s, with overnight lows dropping down to the low 70s.

.LONG TERM...
(Friday through Monday)
Issued at 143 AM CDT Tue Jul 1 2025

Upper level ridge will move off to the east as a weak shortwave
approaches the southern Rockies from the west. Low thunderstorm
chances will exist through the weekend as this feature slowly
moves through the area. Temperatures will remain near the seasonal
average through the weekend, before mid-level ridging builds in
and bumps highs up into the 90s by early next week.
