...THE NORTHWEST AVALANCHE CENTER HAS ISSUED A SPECIAL AVALANCHE
BULLETIN...

* WHAT...Significant new snow and strong winds, a variable and weak
  snowpack, and a busy weekend in the backcountry could combine for
  uniquely dangerous avalanche conditions.

* WHERE...The Washington Cascades from the Canadian Border to the
  Columbia River, Mt Hood, and the Olympic Mountains.

* WHEN...In effect until Sun 18:00 PST.

* IMPACTS...Avalanches large enough to bury, injure or kill a person
  may be easy to trigger on a variety of slopes. Avalanches may
  break widely across the slope.

* PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Backcountry travelers should
  exercise extra caution during this period. Make sure to read the
  avalanche forecast for details about the specific conditions in
  your zone.
