.KEY MESSAGES...

- Temperatures warming through the week.

- Elevated fire concerns in central Washington Friday.

- Widespread Moderate HeatRisk Saturday through Monday.

- Dry and breezy with elevated fire weather concerns Tuesday.

&&

.SYNOPSIS...
This week will bring dry weather and a warming trend. Friday
will be breezy in central Washington raising fire weather
concerns. Temperatures will warm into the mid to high 90s by
Sunday with widespread Moderate HeatRisk Saturday through
Monday.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
Today through Monday: Today has been mostly dry with northerly flow
aloft and a strengthening ridge off the coast. Tomorrow will be a
dry and breezy day as a wave passes through Canada strengthening
surface pressure gradients. Fire danger will be elevated with RHs in
the low 20s and winds gusting up to 20 mph. Temperatures continue to
creep upward into the mid 80s and 90s tomorrow and Saturday as the
ridge axis propagates east closer to the coast.

By Sunday and Monday, the ridge is essentially ashore signaling
the peak in temperatures. Temperatures Sunday will be in the
high 80s to high 90s with a small chance (20%) of hitting 100F
in the lower Columbia Basin. Temperatures Monday will be in the
90s to low 100s. Chances of hitting 100F: Lewiston: 95%,
Wenatchee: 65%, Moses Lake: 60%, Omak: 30%, Downtown Spokane:
5%.

Tuesday starts the beginning of the cooldown with the ridge slowly
breaking down. This could bring some potential for dry lightning
Tuesday morning but the signal is not high (5% chance). It is
looking like a dry and breezy day with gusts up to 35 mph in the
Cascade gaps. Potential impulses could bring some beneficial
light rains in the mountains and much cooler temperatures for
the latter half of next week. DB
