.SYNOPSIS...
A persistent ridging pattern will lead to a warming and drying
trend across the region through the forecast period. Winds will
briefly increase Tuesday night into Wednesday with the passage
of a front.

.DISCUSSION...
Today through Monday: Ridge pattern will be building into the
region and bring a period of warm, dry conditions through the
end of the week. While the pattern is expected to bring benign
conditions, a weak cold front passing through BC is expected to
bring breezy winds through the Cascade Gaps and Basin for this
afternoon and Wednesday. Sustained speeds will be in the teens
with gusts near 30 MPH. By Wednesday night, the front exits and
winds subside. The rest of the period will have steadily rising
temperatures into upper 80s and low 100s through the weekend.
As for when relief from the unseasonable warm temperatures, the
long range models a showing the ridge weakening and shifting
East at the start of next week with temperatures starting to a
downward trend. /JDC
