The Open Waters 20 to 40 NM southeast of Sandy Hook NJ to south of
Fire Island Inlet NY...
Fire Island Inlet to Montauk Point NY out 40 NM...
At 1120 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 13 nm southwest of Buoy 44017 to
21 nm south of Buoy 44025, moving northeast at 20 knots.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
