...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast New Jersey, including the following
  counties, Essex and Union.

* WHEN...Until 230 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban areas is likely.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 108 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain with
    embedded thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected
    to begin shortly in the advisory area.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Newark, Elizabeth, Plainfield, Bloomfield, Linden, Orange,
    Summit, Millburn, Caldwell, Clark, Fairfield, Union, East
    Orange, Irvington, West Orange, Montclair, Belleville,
    Westfield, Livingston and Nutley.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
