High surf and minor beach erosion on the ocean shoreline. * WHERE...Southwest Suffolk County. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening. * COASTAL IMPACTS...Minor to locally moderate flooding late this afternoon, in vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding. Some road closures are possible, and vehicles parked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront could be flooded. Flooding will also extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays. * SHORELINE IMPACTS...Breaking waves up to 7 feet in the surf zone could cause additional minor beach erosion at times into this morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
