* WHAT...For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents.
  For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one half foot of
  inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas
  near the waterfront and shoreline. For the Coastal Flood
  Warning, one to two feet of inundation above ground level
  expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and
  shoreline. For the Coastal Flood Watch, one to two feet of
  inundation above ground level possible in vulnerable areas
  near the waterfront and shoreline.

* WHERE...Southern Queens and Southern Nassau Counties.

* WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, through Saturday
  evening. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 8 PM this
  evening to 2 AM EDT Friday. For the Coastal Flood Warning,
  from 9 AM to 1 PM EDT Friday. For the Coastal Flood Watch,
  from Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas
  near the waterfront and shoreline, including roads, parking lots,
  parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the
  waterfront. Numerous road closures are likely, and vehicles
  parked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront will likely
  become flooded. Flooding will also extend inland from the
  waterfront along tidal rivers and bays.

* RIP CURRENT IMPACTS...Life-threatening rip currents are likely
  for all people entering the surf zone. Anyone visiting the
  beaches should stay out of the surf. Rip currents can sweep
  even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional rounds of coastal flooding around the
  times high tide can be expected through at least the weekend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If
travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through
water of unknown depth.

If you enter the surf zone, always have a flotation device with
you and swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax
and float, and do not swim against the current. If able, swim in
a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face
the shore and yell or wave for help.

...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 3 PM
EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level
  expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.

* WHERE...In Connecticut, Southern New Haven, Southern Middlesex
  and Southern New London Counties. In New York, Northwest
  Suffolk County.

* WHEN...From 11 AM to 3 PM EDT Friday.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Minor flooding in the more vulnerable
  locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low
  lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and
  businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience
  minor flooding. Localized moderate flooding is possible Friday afternoon
  with more extensive flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional rounds of coastal flooding around the
  times high tide can be expected through at least the weekend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
