.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Thursday Night)
Issued at 1030 PM CDT Tue Jul 1 2025

Water vapor imagery shows much drier tropospheric air working into
Middle Tennessee in association with a shortwave trough and
surface "cold" front passing through. Dewpoints are already
decreasing into the 60s across the northern zones with clear
skies. PWs have taken a sharp decrease as well, and high pressure
will remain in control through the remainder of the short-term
period as the drier air mass settles into the area. Temperatures
should run near normal values along with decreased humidity
levels.

.LONG TERM...
(Friday through next Wednesday)
Issued at 1016 PM CDT Tue Jul 1 2025

By Independence Day, temperatures will take on a more above normal
posture across Middle TN as deep-layer ridging builds across the
region. This trend will continue through the holiday weekend with
highs well into the 90s for much of the forecast area along with a
slight increase in humidity due to weak southerly flow. This could
support heat index values close to 100 degrees for some areas.
Rain chances make a return to Middle TN early next week due to
steadily increasing moisture values and approaching disturbances
aloft.

Issued at 612 AM CDT Wed Jul 2 2025
