.UPDATE...
Issued at 839 PM CST Sat Feb 22 2025

Temps cooling off this evening with cloud cover on the Plateau a
bit slower to move east than models suggested. With dropping temps
and calm winds overnight, added some fog mention especially near
bodies of water right around sunrise. Other than the cloud cover
and fog updates, rest of the forecast is on track.

.SHORT TERM...
(Rest of today through Sunday)
Issued at 1112 AM CST Sat Feb 22 2025

There`s quite a bit of cloud cover around this morning ahead of a
shortwave which is currently centered over the Mississippi River in
West Tennessee. The cloud cover should decrease late this
afternoon and evening as the wave moves east. It will still be
cold tonight, but not as bad as the last few nights. Lows will be
in the low to mid 20s. Weak southerly low level flow will commence
on Sunday as surface high pressure moves east of the area. We`ll
have plenty of sunshine across the area. This will help boost
highs into the upper 40s to lower 50s. |

.LONG TERM...
(Sunday Night through next Saturday)
Issued at 1112 AM CST Sat Feb 22 2025

The warming trend will continue to start the work week with highs
getting into the upper 50s on Monday and the 60s on Tuesday and
Wednesday. Temperatures will still be cool to start Monday
morning with lows in the mid to upper 20s, but this will be the
last time most of the area is at or below freezing through the
rest of the forecast. The next rain chance looks to be late
Wednesday into early Thursday as a trough moves through the Great
Lakes dragging a cold front through the area. Behind the front,
temperatures will be cooler but generally around normal for late
February with highs in the 50s.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1013 PM CST Sat Feb 22 2025

Cloud deck has finally dissipated/moved east over KCSV/KSRB, so
SKC conditions look to prevail. VFR conditions can be expected at
all terminals, with light and variable winds overnight. Southerly
winds at 5 knots or less can be expected during daytime hours. Fog
still looks possible overnight, but confidence remains on the
lower end for impacts to terminals.
