Issued at 1057 AM CST Sun Feb 23 2025

Temperatures are warming nicely so far this morning as ample
sunshine graces the mid state. Observation sites around the area are
reporting temperatures in the low 40s with a forecast high today of
low 50s. Surface high pressure is currently analyzed just to our
northeast, keeping cloud cover near 0% for most of the region.
Another cold night is in store with lows in the upper 20s and calm
winds.

The start of the new work week looks very pleasant with even warmer
temperatures as ridging builds across the southeast. Highs will
reach near 60 degrees tomorrow with increasing clouds through the
afternoon.

.LONG TERM...
(Monday Night through next Sunday)
Issued at 1057 AM CST Sun Feb 23 2025

The warming trend will continue in the extended with well above-
normal temperatures on both Tuesday and Wednesday. The latest NBM
has Nashville reaching 71 degrees on Wednesday afternoon. An upper-
level low will swing across the Great Lakes Wednesday night that
will bring a cold front and rain across the area. The highest rain
chances will be north of I-40 with chances near 70% and chances of
40-50% across the rest of middle Tennessee. PWAT values will
approach 1" which is above the 90th percentile for this time of
year, so a soaking rainfall will be likely, but rainfall amounts
will be on the lower side due to how quick this system will push
through; generally less than 0.25" of rain is expected. Rain will
wrap up Thursday and we will dry out and warm back into the upper
50s just in time for the weekend.
