(Rest of today through Monday) Issued at 1057 AM CST Sun Feb 23 2025 Temperatures are warming nicely so far this morning as ample sunshine graces the mid state. Observation sites around the area are reporting temperatures in the low 40s with a forecast high today of low 50s. Surface high pressure is currently analyzed just to our northeast, keeping cloud cover near 0% for most of the region. Another cold night is in store with lows in the upper 20s and calm winds. The start of the new work week looks very pleasant with even warmer temperatures as ridging builds across the southeast. Highs will reach near 60 degrees tomorrow with increasing clouds through the afternoon. && .LONG TERM... (Monday Night through next Sunday) Issued at 1057 AM CST Sun Feb 23 2025 The warming trend will continue in the extended with well above- normal temperatures on both Tuesday and Wednesday. The latest NBM has Nashville reaching 71 degrees on Wednesday afternoon. An upper- level low will swing across the Great Lakes Wednesday night that will bring a cold front and rain across the area. The highest rain chances will be north of I-40 with chances near 70% and chances of 40-50% across the rest of middle Tennessee. PWAT values will approach 1" which is above the 90th percentile for this time of year, so a soaking rainfall will be likely, but rainfall amounts will be on the lower side due to how quick this system will push through; generally less than 0.25" of rain is expected. Rain will wrap up Thursday and we will dry out and warm back into the upper 50s just in time for the weekend. && .AVIATION...
