.DISCUSSION...
Stronger winds expected across the area today out of the south-
southwest gusting 25 to 35 mph. We`ll also see hotter
temperatures, rising into the low-to-mid 90s this afternoon with
humidity falling to around 40 to 50 percent. Skies will be mostly
clear, but ridging across the region will continue to limit mixing
heights mostly staying under 4000 ft, but with the winds, smoke
dispersal should stay good to very good.
Low chances for storms during the day on Sunday (15-20%) with a
frontal boundary stalled across our area from around Columbus to
Sioux City, IA. Gusty winds return southeast of this boundary with
gusts 20 to 30 mph with winds out of the south-southwest. Areas
northwest of this boundary see weaker, more southerly winds.
Temperatures on Sunday will peak in the mid-to-upper 90s with heat
indices reaching 100 to 104. Humidity will drop a bit lower,
to around 35 to 45 percent, lowest across southeast Nebraska.
Smoke dispersal will again be good to very good.
