.DISCUSSION...
Low fire danger today with cooler temperatures in the mid to upper
70s. Skies will be partly cloudy throughout the day. A cold front
has pushed through the region bringing north winds. Wind speeds
gradually decrease this afternoon going from gusts up to 25 mph to
light winds by evening. There is a low chance of afternoon
thunderstorms (15-30%) across southeast Nebraska and southwest
Iowa.
Transport winds, and therefore smoke dispersal, will be highest
early in the day before winds weaken later this afternoon.
Morning RH values between 85-100% will dip to between 45-55% by
afternoon.
Temperatures cool to below normal by Sunday with widespread shower
and thunderstorms. Wetting rains are likely over large portions of
the area.
