The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Butler County in east central Nebraska...
  Southwestern Colfax County in northeastern Nebraska...
  Platte County in northeastern Nebraska...

* Until 530 AM CDT.

* At 1137 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
  2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen since last night. Additional
  rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area.
  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Columbus, Duncan, Platte Center, Monroe, Richland, Lakeview,
  Tarnov, Circle H Trailer Park, Central Community College, College
  View Trailer Park, Lake Babcock, Lake North, Shell Creek
  Elementary School, Lake Oconee, Camp Pawnee and Camp Luther.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
